Beth has been a pediatric nurse for over 35 years. She received her undergraduate degree at Bloomsburg University and graduate degree at the University of Utah. She has been the Clinical Practice Specialist in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Hospital Colorado for the past 16 years – overseeing the quality and safety program in the PICU. Her clinical areas of passion include pediatric trauma, resuscitation and sepsis prevention. Beth is the co-lead for Children’s Hospital Colorado’s Clinical and Operational Effectiveness Committee, their Sepsis Prevention taskforce and she also oversees her organization’s Code Committee and RRT program. She is a member of the Children’s Hospitals Association’s Improving Pediatric Sepsis Outcomes Collaborative Steering Committee. Beth is the ICU workgroup co-lead of this multi-year collaborative, which now has over 60 participating hospitals working to reduce mortality from pediatric sepsis. Beth has served on the Board of Directors for AACN for the past 4 years and she is currently serving a one year term as president of AACN.
