Dr. Marianne Murray

Dr. Marianne Murray, DNP, RN, CHSE is currently a Professor of Nursing and the Director of Nursing Programs at Alaska Pacific University since 2020. Since coming on board at APU, she has been intricately involved in the creation of the nursing curriculum in the Practical nursing program and the Associate degree program. In 2021-2022, Dr. Murray led the Associate and Bachelor’s nursing programs successfully through ACEN, a national nursing program accreditation. Dr. Murray has served as the Executive Director of the Alaska Board of Nursing and assisted with many regulation changes during the height of the pandemic. Dr. Murray has been a nurse for over 30 years. She spent 16 years in the clinical setting as an emergency flight nurse and nurse administrator, and earned national certification in medical-surgical nursing. As a nurse educator, she achieved certification as a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator. She serves on the editorial board for the journal Teaching and Learning in Nursing and is a member of the research committee for the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing. She has presented nationally on many topics.
