Shelly Burdette-Taylor, PhD, MSN, CWCN, CFCN, NPD-BC, LTC-R

Michele R. Burdette-Taylor (aka Shelly) is a nurse, writer, and life-long student and educator. She has completed a PhD at the University of San Diego, California in Nursing Education. Shelly has been a private business owner teaching foot and wound care and providing guidance for nurses focusing on professional development.

Dr. Burdette-Taylor is an Associate Professor at the University of Alaska Anchorage teaching Community – Population – Public Health for baccalaureate, RN-BS nursing students and has served as a chair and committee member for numerous graduate students completing an FNP and DNP. Shelly is a Nightingale scholar, working with the American Association of Historical Nursing studying her footsteps prior to and after the Crimean War. Dr. Burdette-Taylor is passionate about nurses and how so many have contributed to the professional identity and practice of nursing in the 21st century.
